Excellent place to try different techniques through beginners classes. I have taken mosaics and woodcarving. The instructors are experts in their field and experienced in teaching their craft. So lucky to have this gem in Lakewood!

I LOVE THIS ARTS CENTER! They have amazing classes that range from pottery, weave-making, visual arts, and more. I took a 6 week beginner's pottery class and the instructor and the receptionist that worked there were so friendly and helpful. I was able to get good skills from that class. After the class, you are able to do studio time and you get to play with the array of glazes you get to use! I recommend if you are wanting to take a class to be diligent about the timing. They fill up quick! Call to ask them when they will be releasing new classes so that you can secure a spot. Well worth it!

I love Washington Heights Arts Center, staff and instructors for ceramics. They have setup rules and expectations for student conduct, as well for the instructors. The rules are clear. The staff is very helpful, friendly, and knowledgable. I have difficulty signing up for classes, on line, and they have helped me get signed up. I, as an older computer challenged person, I really appreciate their friendly helpful attitudes. Thank you

Washington Heights Art Center is amazing. I was feeling a pull to reintroduce creativity into my life and used to love ceramics in high school so I decided to sign up for Intro to Pottery. I just finished this six week class and it was incredibly restorative and fun! Kelly was a great teacher and I’ve been loving the independent studio time. I can’t wait to take more classes.
