Powered by GoogleThe people here are good, it’s a pretty friendly and welcoming place to be but the building itself is in terrible condition… ceiling tiles exploding onto machines from broken plumbing above. The AC has been out for weeks while the exercise room has to be at least 85. It’s not even close to the cheapest gym in town, unfortunately the lack of maintenance can make it a very soiling experience despite the largely good members and for the most part, friendly staff. Pick up on the buildings care and hopefully my opinion will change. But I’ve been coming for a long time and these have been perpetual issues.
View on Google ↗I’ve been coming to the YMCA Downtown location for a little over a year now, and I genuinely love this gym. The facility is always clean, the staff is friendly, and the overall environment makes it a great place to train consistently. It’s one of the few gyms where you really feel like part of a community rather than just another membership. One thing I would love to see added, though, is a 100–120 lb heavy boxing bag. For members who enjoy boxing-style workouts or conditioning, having a proper heavy bag would make a huge difference and add another great training option to an already strong facility. That said, I still think this YMCA does an excellent job overall. The equipment variety, atmosphere, and staff make it a place I enjoy coming back to every week. Adding a heavy bag would honestly make this gym close to perfect—and it would definitely make me feel like I never need another gym. I’ll always have the Y.
View on Google ↗Hello, I just came out here to say this location is horrible to visit. The staff are very unprofessional and rude. Every time I call to ask a question, they avoid answering and hang up. For example, I asked, Can I bring my sports stick in and use it on the treadmill. All I would be doing is holding it in my hand and running with it. The lady on the phone, in a rude voice, said, "No, bye," and hung up on me. Before, I could speak. Every time I go to this location, when I walk in, they do not even acknowledge me. Even though they are not doing anything, I say, "Hi, how are you?" and they do not respond. They stare at me when I leave, and when I say thank you and have a good one again, they just stare and do not respond. Furthermore, when I am in the gym, 95% of the time there is no staff down there. Even when there is, they sit on their phones, and they look down. They do not even walk around. They sit there on their phone, do not acknowledge you, and when you go to ask them a question, they stare at their phone and then say they do not know. On top of that, I am paying a ridiculous amount of money to go there each month. It is wild how much they charge you since no one goes there anymore. A lot of their equipment is outdated. It is also very dirty and not very clean. Personally, the staff there is very rude. They do not really take you seriously; they look at their phones, do not respond, and show a lack of human decency. Personally, next summer, when I am back, I will not be coming back here. I am very disappointed because I am paying a lot of money to get disrespected. I can see why a lot of people are not at this location when I go there: the staff is ignorant. When I was younger, the YMCA used to be a fun, happy place. The staff were nice and would greet you. Now, when I walk in, they sit on their phones, do not answer my questions, and have an attitude. I am highly disappointed in how the YMCA has changed over the years. Comming back to the YMCA I thought it would be still very lively and be a great place, but it has gotten sad depressing and it is dirty and not clean. I advise you to choose a cheaper gym so you do not have to pay these high rates, and maybe the staff there will treat you better than any YMCA in Colorado. Thank you!!
View on Google ↗Our kid has had a membership (11 yrs old) for about a year. We have always taken him to shoot hoops. We have always been allowed to go in there with him. We just go in for him to feel safe and to watch him. Tonight we were told we can’t do that anymore and we both would need our own memberships just to watch him. They Stated they are trying to cut down on kids being in the facility for some accreditation they are trying to receive. They absolutely would not allow me to go up with him so we are canceling his membership. Worst customer service experience I have had in a long time. We had 8 kids from basketball team that had kids memberships. Everyone is canceling now
View on Google ↗Incredibly hard to find a pool available in CO Springs. Military base has limited hours so I’ve tried 3 different YMCA locations here and I’m always turned away due to closures. This one doesn’t allow day passes.
