The Powerhouse Science Center

Went here twice in the early weeks of June 2026, while I was visiting Durango with my family. This place was great! STEM to the max! I have a 4 and 1 year old. They both enjoyed it a lot. And my wife and I also enjoyed solving the equations. Good size outside area. They do have a separate area for tiny babies. They have a good size front area too. They are right next to the river. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I definitely recommend this place for anybody who has kids. It does get busy. Thank you!

Very interactive children's museum with so many hands-on options that work for a wide range of ages! A great place to let your kids explore and learn all while having a fantastic time!

Great experience for kids. Lots of different areas for kids to explore and experiment with different objects. Such as building tracks,puzzles, problem solving and lots of different toys for kids to play around with. Its along the river trail as well so afterwards it's nice to go for a walk around outside. We also went for St Patrick Day and they had tons of crafts and scavenger hunt for the kids. Our 5 year old definitely enjoyed.

This museum has more cool stuff than bigger ones we have been to!!!! We were obsessed with the ball maze wall! The staff were amazingly kind and shout out to Cheryl who let us pet and learn all about the Milk Snake Pricilla and who was just a blast to spend out time with there. Cheryl made the experience so much more enjoyable. Please visit this science center for an awesome time playing and learning!!!

It was our first time visiting and we had so much fun! There are plenty of activities and entertainment for our 8yo and 3yo. We got a yearly membership and can't wait to come back to play and learn. What am enjoyable enterprise for everyone!
