I love this gym and the community! Everything about the Corner, mainly the people, brought me back to life when I needed it most. My young sons and I have received so much support from everyone and I've found awesome opportunities to give back through this organization as well. I'm the strongest I have ever been, mentally and physically, thanks in large part to the Corner. All are welcome and invited to become the best possible version of themselves here if they show up to work!
View on Google ↗This place is incredible. As a lifelong trail runner and mountain biker, I was looking for a martial arts gym where I could cross-train and push myself in a new way. I signed up for the intro class just to see what it was about, and I was immediately sold on getting a membership. The intro class instructor, Prika, was extremely attentive and gave detailed instruction on everything from wrapping our hands to running drills that gave everyone a real taste of what to expect. Very professional, no-nonsense, and never pretentious or off-putting. All of the coaches have a similar attitude and are always taking time in class to help students hone their technique. The gym owner, Carrie, clearly cares about every person who walks through the door. She doesn’t tolerate nonsense, but it’s equally obvious how much she cares about what she does and the people training here. Her record in the boxing world speaks for itself. The community here is unmatched. Every time I leave, I feel like I’ve been surrounded by people who genuinely want to see me improve, push myself. What started as a place to cross-train has turned into a serious goal of improving my boxing enough to compete in an amateur bout or two somewhere in the future. The Corner got me hooked, and I’m excited to see where the road takes me.
View on Google ↗I participate in my hometown Portland, Maine Rocksteady boxing program for people with Parkinson’s. While visiting friends in Boulder, I joined the rusty gloves class led by Carrie and an incredible team of support staff volunteers. I joined a welcoming group of fellow parkinson’s folks, and immediately felt like I was part of a cohesive community. Something I suspect the staff creates across many of their classes and programs. Carrie obviously has the ability to be sensitive and caring at the same time, motivating and inspiring. I hope to be a visitor again in the not too distant future.
View on Google ↗A boxing gym is built on community, and this is the first place where I truly felt that community was the top priority. I’ve trained at several boxing gyms before, but this one is the real deal. I worked with Carrie, and her instruction was nothing short of exceptional—she zeroes in on exactly what you need and helps you truly understand the movement and feel confident throughout the process. Absolutely worth the drive up from Denver. Easily an 11/10.
View on Google ↗I had an AMAZING first experience ever boxing today at The Corner Boxing Club! It was a treat to learn from Carrie and really get a feel for the basics of boxing. I can’t wait to go again!
