A lot of amazing volunteers are doing great things for Scouting Colorado (aka Greater Colorado Council), the regional council within the Scouting America organization, formerly known as Boy Scouts of America. The national program improved safety and evolved in other ways over the past 5-20 years – and although changes can be difficult to accept, they are positive improvements overall. In a world of kids glued to digital devices, this non-profit organization prepares youths to become upstanding adults - "Prepared for Life". We are confident that our sons are safe during their fun and adventurous outings and they gain invaluable leadership experience. Each Cub Scout Pack and Scout Troop is different, so I recommend visiting 2-3 before joining one.

Sad that they say they've rebranded for inclusivity, and say they aren't a "religious group," yet your child is required to declare a belief in their god to participate. That is the definition of a religious organization. This is not inclusive of thousands of other belief systems who don't believe in a christian god. So disappointing, as we would have loved to put our children in a scouting program. But we will not trust this company with our children. They haven't changed.

This Council does its best to provide a safe and fun scouting experience for kids of all ages. I have seen firsthand the blood, sweat, and tears that are contributed every day into making the BSA the outstanding organization it is. If you've had a bad experience with a troop, I send you my condolences, and highly recommend you try again with a different troop. Sometimes it takes a few tries to find a group that works for your kid, and sometimes you have to push your kid to do hard things when they wanna back out (like dishes), but it's worth the friendships and experiences they will eventually get out of it and the tough, upstanding adult they will become. Thank you Greater Colorado Council for everything you've done for my family.

Scouting builds character in our youth today. It teaches them to be good citizens and provides leadership training.

I am surprised to see the lower Google rating, as they have been amazing for our family of scouts. The staff at this site have always been so helpful and kind. I do wish that the Denver area was more active in scouts, as the Atlanta Area Council was, but they do their best with the interest they have here. I think that many families just camp on their own, not understanding all the values that are learned with the scouting program. We have many wonderful leaders in the Greater Colorado Council!
