Best youth hockey program/learn to play program on the Front Range (probably anywhere, but we haven't tried outside the Front Range!). Run by a former NHL player which is a cool thing to know and watch your kids get coached by a pro. Super family-friendly and focused on helping anyone play who wants to play and learn the game. Jr Rookies Drop-In program is Saturday mornings and the rink provides loaner gear for free as well has helping you get signed up for Mile High Mites. The 'Learn to Play Goalie' program is free and also provides loaner gear at no charge til you're sure goalie is for you - without that my son wouldn't have tried and found he loves it! Coach Al is easy to talk to and never has said "no", just "let's figure out how to do this". Sabrina who runs the youth programs is also fantastic

Honestly this place is pretty cool. It’s not a “nice” rink with crazy amenities and the trip out to the second rink is interesting, but hey they have two sheets of ice! They also have some cool stuff outdoor. The thing they need to fix is the dang BLACK netting they have on Rink 1. That is super obstructive when trying to watch the game! I’m sure it wasn’t done purposefully, but white would make it much easier on the eyes.

The coaching is full of rude men who instead of doing their job would rather pull the favoritism card and only care about playing spending the most money when in reality the moment ANYONE pays for a training session should be treated the same? So if I were you, spend your money elsewhere because I 1000% guarantee there’s so much better coaching and professionalism at other rinks here in Colorado Springs area. Making it very clear that the issue with this rink is the coaching. The rudeness from them is completely uncalled for.

Eat youth program in Colorado. Coach Al who played for the bruins and whalers just has the biggest heart for the kids and it is all about team and progression without being overbearing. All the coaches and support are excellent and it runs super efficient. From beginning skaters to those who are looking to build on their skills it has been tremendous. This is our son’s first year in skates and he’s already team ready. The JR rookies drop in program makes it so flexible because you can come when ya want and still have a life. Great facility to meet a lot of awesome people and its family strong.

Al runs the best rinks in town. My family has played at just about every rink in the COS area and Monument is by far the best. It has an amazing adult league with every possible level offered. Also no fighting! Al runs the hot heads out of the league. The learn to skate and intro to hockey program cannot be beat. Al is so amazing with kids.
