Fossil Trace Golf Academy

This was such a beautiful place to play and each hole was unique. The driving range had a few spots reserved for those with tee times that were already set up with balls. The golf carts had a club and ball scrub attached. The layout was easy to navigate and the course was in great shape when we visited in mid May. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Had a great time on Sunday while in Denver for work. I was paired up with three guys we had a great time the golf course was in great shape. Pace of play was solid & the food at the restaurant was delicious after. Steve the bartender took great care of us while visiting. I couldn’t ask for a better way to end the week highly recommend.

Ive been visiting Denver area for a few years nwo and hitting all the public courses. Fossil Trace was on my list because some say its the best public course in Denver. Its good but the best IMO. A few pretty holes, but the rest of the course feels squeezed in around power lines, busy streets and a prison, which takes away from the overall experience. The course is extremely brown right now because of the drought, and the fairways were hard as a rock. The greens were in good shape overall, but very firm, very fast, and tough to hold. If you miss in the wrong spot, they can get pretty slippery and difficult in a hurry. Not a terrible track, but definitely not a course I’d go out of my way to play again. Price needs to come down to match the experience. Not worth the $140 compared to other courses.

Played Fossil yesterday day and the greens were faster than shot gun wedding but rolled true and great! I love this course and will always come back. Nick and Alden helped me out at the shop and were very pleasant and set my day up on the right track. Great overall experience!

One of my favorite places to golf in Colorado. Amazing views, challenging holes, great location, and always a great time. All the staff working there are friendly and extremely helpful. I have golfed at this course maybe a handful of times but I will always be back. It is a must go to golf course if your are in Colorado.
