Denver Center for the Performing Arts

The Denver Center for the Performing Arts is an awesome spot for a night out. There are so many theaters in one area, so you get a huge variety of shows. Whether you’re seeing an opera at the Ellie Caulkins or a big Broadway tour at the Buell, the experience is always great. It’s a fun, lively part of downtown Denver that everyone should check out. Even found a really fun art installation during a recent visit!

Such a great place to see a play! So many theater options, from Broadway to local shows. Musicals, drama and comedy. Symphony is wonderful as well. Decent places nearby for a drink or bite and several of the venues host private functions as well. Always a stimulating artistic adventure!

This is an amazing center. I have been in three of the performance halls. All are well done and well maintained. Acoustics are great, I don't think there would be a bad spot in any of their halls.

Parking: Wildly expensive and poorly managed Tickets: Often don’t work, have to wait in a box office line to get them reprinted Staff: Aggressively rude - physically pushed me out of line while trying to sort out their ticket QR code error Seats: Torture devices Bathrooms: Scarce, with 20 minute lines Concessions: Overpriced and low quality Fire hazard: 10/10 - the place is packed like a sardine can with very few exits. It doesn’t matter how good the performance is - at the end of the night you’ll feel frustrated, sore, and financially exploited - so really, what’s the point?

My husband and I saw A Christmas Carol on December 22nd at 7pm. It was packed and the show was AMAZING! The cast was just fantastic and the special effects made it kinda scary actually so we were impressed. Of course, you are not attending a public show unless a few people in the audience get confused and think they are the main event...This was the case for us as two teenagers behind us were talking the whole entire show. That did not spoil it though as the show was still a lot of fun and a cup of wine helped the immersion. This was one of those nights where it was in the negatives so it was very cold on our way out. We also had to go to the 7th floor of the parking garage despite getting there 45 minutes early (there are multiple plays going on at once so keep that in mind).
