Camp Kind

Camp kind was an amazing experience for me and my siblings. We had a great time volunteering at different places and having hands on activities. This was my 5th time at camp kind, I was pleased with my counselor, Carli, and the atmosphere. Camp kind is a wonderful camp for your kids!

We enrolled my 5 yo and were concerned how quickly shed adjust to a new camp and new friends but by day 2/3 she was talking with such familiarity about her counselors and campers. She’s visited such a diverse set of charities over her 4 weeks there and came home with a sense of accomplishment that she did something meaningful for others. Best of all she came home exhausted from a jammed packed day of activities. Im so glad we found Camp Kind this summer.

I am quite disappointed with camp kind. The counselors and staff are rude and the facilities at the camp are unacceptable. This does not feel like a safe environment. My kids have attended over a dozen camps throughout the years and we’ve not run into these issues - ever. From the YMCA, to Dawson, to school run camps, they have been treated with kindness and so have I. I’m really sad to have this experience because I was excited about the volunteer opportunities for my kids but this camp is poorly run and full of unkind (ironic) staff. The counselor that runs the check in and check out process was unkind to me and my kids every day. I know it can be stressful with lots of people coming and going but she is unfriendly and harsh. A counselor had their arm around my daughter on the bus ride during a field trip. My daughter was very uncomfortable and rode home leaning forward to avoid a counselor’s touch. This is highly concerning because unwanted or inappropriate touch should NEVER happen to a child. Their inflatables are infested with bugs. Obviously it’s summer and bugs will happen but an earwig infestation is not okay. The kids have felt unsafe in transportation. Namely having to separate from their counselors and drive in a van with a stranger to their field trip. I sent this information to the director who provided many excuses for why my concerns were not valid. I wouldn’t waste your time or money - find literally any other camp in the area so your kids are safe and treated with respect.

This was our child's third year attending Camp Kind, and once again, it provided an unforgettable experience. Each summer, the camp has consistently delivered a schedule packed with a variety of activities that range from volunteer events and field trips to arts and crafts, and exciting water days. Each day was filled with new adventures that kept our children engaged and excited. Our kids absolutely love the staff at Camp Kind. They are incredibly friendly and enthusiastic, which makes every activity even more enjoyable. While we thoroughly enjoy the camp, we do miss it being held at Rocky Top Middle School as it was closer to our home. The convenience of the previous location was a bonus for our family. Overall, our experience with Camp Kind has been fantastic. The memories made and the skills learned will stay with our children for a lifetime. From the diverse activities to the amazing staff, every aspect of Camp Kind contributes to a fun and enriching summer camp experience. We highly recommend Camp Kind to anyone looking for an exceptional summer camp for their children.

We had our 6 year old go here for 2 weeks. They loved it! Lots of fun outside activities, arts and crafts, baking, and “kindness” activities/field trips. We love the philosophy behind the camp and were very happy with how well organized they seemed. Unlike some other camps we went to, they really made sure kids had fun but still stayed cool and hydrated on those occasional super hot summer days.
